Östeuropa enligt Freedom House-mätningen 2011

Igår, den 13 januari, publicerade Freedom House sin senaste mätning över frihet och förtryck i världen: ”Freedom in the World 2011 Survey”.
Intressant att notera om Östeuropa:
- Ukraina har under 2010 gått från att vara ett "fritt" land till ett "delvis fritt" land.
- Enligt pressmeddelandet framhålls skälet: ”Ukraine suffered from deteriorating levels of press freedom, instances of election fraud, and growing politicization of the judiciary”.
- “France saw a decline in its civil liberties score due to its treatment of Roma from Eastern Europe”
- “The 2010 election in Kyrgyzstan, which followed the collapse of the government earlier in the year, was considered relatively free and fair and resulted in a status improvement from Not Free to Partly Free”
- “Nagorno-Karabakh fell from Partly Free to Not Free.”
- “Other declines were seen in Hungary and Latvia.”
